Gru

Following the release of the 4th Despicable Me movie, and the fact that he is the greatest villain of all time,  Gru was a must build for me...

Being a fan of the Despicable Me franchise and seeing the large-scale model that LEGO had released, I knew that I could "improve it".

While on my trip to the LEGO House in Denmark, I stumbled across a dragon jaw piece in the color nougat; when I turned it on its side, it reminded me of a nose, and from there, the Gru model was born. I also included a few other cool part usages, like a bracelet for his iconic scarf, and wheel arches for his shoulders.

The completed model was a hit, and I was featured on a few LEGO blog posts, including one that explained the design process. I even ended up building a little minion to go with him!
